TVR applied for Eurovision 2017 !!!

Irina Radu, President of TVR:

“We applied for Eurovision 2017, with the specification that we can withdraw without penalties until 10.10.2016. Personaly I would like EBU to guarantee us, that if we pay our taxes, we will be permitted to participate. This year we were almost on a zero balance with the debts, and still they disqualiffied us. This must not repeat.”

Probably the dead line of 10.10.2016 is mentioned because the last admisitrative meeting of TVR couldn’t take place in due time, for the inside approval for Romania to participate. But if they didn’t applied now, they have missed the chance to participate. If by any circumstance the board of TVR will decide not to participate, TVR can withdraw without any penalties until the mentioned date.

This is the official statemnt made in an interview taken to Irina Radu by “Evenimentul Zilei” Newspaper in Romania.
