Baia Mare will host the national romanian selection

This year’s national selection will be held in Baia Mare. The shows from the semifinal and final will take place in  “Sala Polivalenta” which has a capacity of 2500 places. ‘This comes as a support for Baia Mare in the city’s bid to be The European Cultural Capital in 2021. “It became a tradition to take the Eurovision National Selection in different cities in the country, first Brasov in 2014 and then Craiova in 2015. The mayor and the local authorities made a very nice offer to TVR which we think will compensate the distance betwen Bucharest and Baia Mare”said Iuliana Marciuc from TVR. TVR makes a real effort to support the romanian participation this year in Eurovision, due to their financial problems.
